President Zhou Ruguang and his delegation accepted the invitation and went to visit Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University during February 17 and 21 to host the work promotion conference of JSNU-SPbPU Institute of Engineering, attend the 120th anniversary of SPbPU and visit St. Petersburg University for talents introducing.
Professor Andrei Ivanovich Rudskoi, member of Russian Academy of Science and rector of SPbPU met President Zhou on February 18. He said that there was a unique position of Sino-Russian Institute in terms of two sides’ cooperation fields, talent cultivation and school-running scales. Two sides should work together to solve all the problems and difficulties in cooperation. SPbPU would highly support the development of Sino-Russian Institute and make it become a model. Then, he introduced the situation of JSNU exchange students. President Zhou showed the achievements of the institute in the past two years. He noted that there would be more and more excellent JSNU students come to Russia for further study and wished that two sides could deepen the scientific research cooperation and technology transfer on the basis of joint cultivation.
While in Russia, President Zhou hosted the work promotion conference of JSNU-SPbPU Institute of Engineering Management Committee. The conference revised teaching plans and conducted profound discussion over teachers’ assignment and managing mechanism. During his stay, President Zhou paid a visit to JSNU students at SPbPU, encouraging them to work harder for themselves, JSNU and China.
On February 20, President Zhou went to St Petersburg University and Repin Academic Institute of Fine Arts to meet two doctoral candidates, introducing JSNU recruitment policies and inspired them to come back to China and become a member of JSNU after graduation.
