On the afternoon of December 5th, the 174th “Coffee Time · Meeting with Professors” was held in the practice base of “Six O’clock Meeting. Professor Wang Shuliang from the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation was the speaker.
Taking the complex networks in students’ daily life as the starting point, Professor Wang Shuliang made students have an in-depth understanding of the “complex networks” that are ubiquitous in life. On this basis, he introduced cutting-edge topics such as “the penetration and influence of artificial intelligence on daily life” and “how to integrate complex networks with artificial intelligence and make progress”. With vivid cases like vehicle target tracking, power grid fault detection, and recommender systems, Professor Wang analyzed how to use artificial intelligence knowledge to study complex networks and the profound changes brought about by the combination of complex networks and artificial intelligence. He not only revealed how this trend is reshaping the current way of human life but also looked ahead to the opportunities and challenges it will bring to the future. He believed that artificial intelligence will become a key advantage in future workplace competition so he encouraged students to make self-planning earlier, and develop interdisciplinary thinking and abilities to enhance their competitiveness in employment.
“How could foreign language majors combine with artificial intelligence?” Professor Wang thought that “Intelligent Computer-Aided Instruction”, “Natural Language Processing and Machine Translation”, and “Language and Cognitive Science Research” are cutting points. The combination can not only improve efficiency and quality but also provide broader development space and career opportunities for practitioners and students major in foreign language. He also encouraged students to adhere to their goals, lay a solid professional foundation, learn about artificial intelligence, and look for the fields they love.
