Abstract: This talk is concerned with a stationary Lotka-Volterra model with cross-diffusion. In 1999, Yuan Lou and Wei-Ming Ni derived a couple of limiting systems as one of the cross-diffusion terms tends to infinity. One of the limiting system characterizing the segregation of competing species has been studied by Lou, Ni and Yotsutani and the detailed information on the solution set was revealed. This talk focuses on the other limiting system characterizing the shrinkage of the species which is not endowed with the cross-diffusion effect. The bifurcation structure of positive solutions to the limiting system is stated.
