Time goes by. At this wonderful moment of discarding the old and bringing in the new, we would like to extend our highest regard and heartfelt appreciation to all of you for your selfless dedication and great support to the development of the university on behalf of JSNU.
2018 was an incredible year of implementing the 13th JSNU Five-year Plan. In the past one year, we firmly persist on constructing high-level university and gained some achievements.
This year, we insisted on the leadership of the Party, jointly planed our developing path. We upheld Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as acting guide. Moreover, our branched was awarded Top 100 Party Branch. We have built confidence and made future development strategy.
This year, we kept to reform and innovation and focused on quality-promotion. Sticking to morality and undergraduate education, we achieved new breakthrough in talents cultivation. Totally, we won 7 National Education Achievement Awards, 1 second prize of National M. Ed Education Achievement Award, 1 gold medal of the 4th China College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition, 2 awards of 2018 China College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition. We optimized discipline arrangement, motivating discipline potential. By far, 21 JSNU disciplines had been listed on “Best China Discipline” Ranking. Our Engineering Science entered ESI Top 1%. In terms of technological innovation, the university gained 94 projects of national foundation, 30 provincial or ministerial research achievement awards. We adhered to the principle of strengthening the university through talents, introducing 101 high-level talents. By the end of 2018, JSNU was the 109th on the U.S. News Best Global Universities Ranking, showing the competitiveness of the university.
This year, our work was people-oriented and harmonious. We improved the campus function, revised general construction plan and stared the new campus construction of Kewen College. We launched teacher-caring action and paid attention to the mental wellness of faculty and staff. Campus cultural establishment was enhanced. Then, we were selected as the first among of college Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture Inheritance Base. JSNU had been honored the 13 times as College Informatizition Advanced Units of Jiangsu Province. Infrastructure and environment had been lifted to improve study conditions.
The upcoming year, 2019, is the 70th anniversary of People’s Republic of China. In addition, it is the crucial year to finish the goals of the 13th JSNU Five-year Plan. We will study the spirit of National Education Conference, improve cultivation quality, build discipline summit, insist on innovation and attach significance to international cooperation. We firmly believe that, under the leadership of JSNU committee and with our jointly efforts, the university will realize new progress and start our new glory.
