On the afternoon of March 23rd, Professor Chen Yue from Nankai University visited Jiangsu Normal University and gave a special report titled “Scientific Research Life, Industry Serving the Country - Pharmaceutical Chemistry and International Clinical Trials of Cancer Stem Cells”.
Professor Chen introduced the difficulties faced by pharmaceutical chemistry in different stages from basic research to clinical trial, and explained that only by “not fearing difficulties and daring to give up” can one achieve success inscientific research. “Failure due to difficulties is not terrible. It is brave to embark on this path,” Professor Chen said in the lecture. He encouraged students not to give up halfway because of difficulties, and not to be complacent because of achievements; In the face of ease and pleasure in life, we should dare to give up and constantly pursue our established goals. In addition, Professor Chen told students to cultivate a cautious and objective attitude, pay attention to the division of labor and cooperation of the team, and strengthen the cultivation of team spirit, regardless of whether they are engaged in scientific research or not.
In the interaction section, Professor Chen pointed out that college students should cultivate good living habits and maintain an optimistic attitude towards the question of “what external factors in life can avoid causing cancer”. In response to the question of “whether a synthesized drug will cause damage to normal cells”, Professor Chen explained that only when a drug is safe, effective and producible can it have any value in research and development and be able to protect human health. Finally, Professor Chen Yue sent a message with good wishes to all the students: “Be brave in innovation”.
