The Symposium on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and “the Belt and Road”, which was co-sponsored by Xuzhou Municipal Government and JSNU, and an important agenda of China (Xuzhou) – Pakistan Business Cooperation Conference was held on October 20.
Guests attending the symposium included Xu Donghai, vice mayor of Xuzhou Municipal Government, Zhou Gang, former Chinese Ambassador in Malaysia, Pakistan, Indonesia and India, Professor Hua Guihong, Chair of JSNU Council, Professor Cen Hong, Vice Chair of JSNU Council and many foreign professors from Pakistan.
The Symposium attracted experts and scholars from the University of Punjab, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Lahore University of Management Sciences, University of Peshawar, Nanyang Technological University and many other foreign universities.
Professor Cen hosted the opening ceremony. Professor Hua addressed a speech to welcome all the guests. He pointed out that the Belt and Road Initiative enjoyed great response from Pakistan and the CPEC further promoted the cooperation between two sides. The symposium had a significant meaning in theoretical and practical level. Then, Professor Hua briefed on the current situation of JSNU and the preparation of JSNU Center for Sino-Pakistan Education and Culture Studies and B & R Institute for this symposium. At last, he wished the symposium a great success.
Scholars, officers and media representatives conducted discussion over two themes, which were “staged achievements of CPEC and B& R” and “Xuzhou and CPEC and B& R.” Later, leaders and scholars both witnessed the signing ceremony between two sides.
