On June 17, the delegation of Walisongo State Islamic University in Indonesia visited JSNU. President Zhou Ruguang met with Rector Nizar, Vice Rector Mukhsin Jamil and Head of the International Office. Relevant persons in charge of the International Office and the International College of JSNU attended the meeting.
Zhou Ruguang expressed his warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the information of JSNU and the achievements of its international development. He pointed out that JSNU attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with universities in ASEAN countries, which are diverse in form and rich in content. In 2019, JSNU undertook the training program for outstanding teachers and principals of primary and secondary schools of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia. He said that President Nizar’s visit will open a new chapter in the cooperation between JSNU and Indonesian universities, and hoped that the two sides would cooperate in the fields of talent training, scientific research, cultural exchanges, etc. They would jointly promote the cooperation in higher education between China and ASEAN countries.
Nizar thanked JSNU for the warm reception and introduced the situation of Walisongo State Islamic University. He pointed out that China and Indonesia have cooperated for a long time. Walisongo State Islamic University is the largest and most influential Islamic university in Indonesia, and the university attaches great importance to international cooperation and exchanges. They aimed to promote Indonesian students to study in JSNU, conduct scientific research and cultural exchanges, and contribute to enhancing the friendship between the two peoples.
At the meeting, the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on education for studying in China, Chinese teaching, university-enterprise cooperation etc. The two presidents signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation. At last, the delegation also visited the International College of JSNU.
