Professor Zhang Qiusheng from JSNU Won the Australian Research Award for His Monograph

Zhang Qiusheng, Director of the Australian Studies Center and Professor of School of History, Culture and Tourism, has won the 2020 Australian Research Outstanding Original Book Award, which was established by the Australia-China Council and the Australia Foundation in China (FASIC).


The awards ceremony was held online on December 17th, 2020. Paul Fryman, Australian Ambassador to China, and He Kangwen, former Chairman of the Australia-China Council and Chairman of the Foundation in China, attended and delivered speeches. David Carter, former head of the Australia-China Council’s China programme and director of the Australia-Research Centre at the University of Queensland, announced the winners.

This award is organized by the Australian Council of Academic Experts every two years, and it presents two Australian Research Outstanding Original Work Awards and two Translation Awards. Award-winning representatives and President Zhang Xiaoli of the regional and national branch of Social Sciences Academic Press,the publisher of the monograph, attended the award ceremony. Professor Zhang Qiusheng’s winning of this award has shown that the Australian research achievements of Jiangsu province have been highly recognized by international academic community.
