On March 30, advised by China International Communications Group (CICG), the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and the Department of Education of Hunan Province, and hosted by the Translators Association of China (TAC), CICG Academy of Translation and Interpretation, and Hunan Normal University, the annual conference was held in Changsha in central China’s Hunan Province. Professor Zhu Lun from the Spanish Department of the School of Foreign Studies at Jiangsu Normal University (JSNU) was granted the “Senior Translators Award”.
The Award was established in 2001. It’s awarded to translators who have made outstanding achievements in foreign affairs, diplomacy, external communication, social sciences, science and technology, literature and ethnic language translation. And it aims to commend the old translators for their contributions to promoting the development of the industry and the exchanges between China and foreign countries. The Award also provides the impetus for young and middle-aged translators to inherit and carry forward the fine traditions and promote the development of China’s translation industry in the new era. Since its establishment, the Award has been highly recognized by translation practitioners and received widespread attention from all walks of life.
In his long-term translation practice and theoretical research, Professor Zhu has published dozens of translations and more than ten translated books with over 3 million words. In addition, some of his work are indispensable for domestic ethnology and anthropology research.
