Recently, two volunteer publicity teams of the School of Linguistic Sciences and Arts and the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation at Jiangsu Normal University (JSNU) stood out from 1,000 teams and won the title of Excellent National College Students Volunteer Publicity Teams.
17 young volunteers from the School of Linguistic Sciences and Arts formed a publicity team. They combined speaking and sign language, online and offline to bring more than 10 speeches to 15 units including campuses, communities, enterprises, the fire department, etc. The publicity which benefited about 20,000 people, including more than 2,000 deaf people was reported by more than ten media. Furthermore, related research projects won the second prize at the provincial level in the 18th Challenge Cup, the short film won the third prize at the 3rd Jiangsu College Student Internet Culture Festival and the first prize at JSNU’s short film exhibition.
The team of School of Electrical Engineering and Automation is composed of 10 young volunteers. They combined theoretical speeches with science popularization and created special courses. Totally, 18 speeches were delivered for schools and communities, and 2 bases for science popularization education were constructed. From kindergarten to high school, over 2,300 audience benefited from the activity.
