JSNU holds 2018 Shared Joy in Jiangsu Chinese Speech Contest for Foreigners


The semi-final of 2018 Shared Joy in Jiangsu Chinese Speech Contest for Foreigners (Northern Jiangsu District) was held in Ma Ke Hall on May 9. This contest was sponsored by the Information Office of Jiangsu Province and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, organized by Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, Information Office of Xuzhou Municipal Government and Jiangsu Normal University, and supported by Jiangsu Now and related universities in Jiangsu. Cao Qiaolan, director of International Office of the Information Office of Jiangsu Province, Cen Hong, Deputy Secretary of JSNU Committee of CPC, Zhang Ruchang, Deputy Director of Publicity Department of the CPC Xuzhou Municipal Committee and other leaders attended the event.

18 international students came to the stage in diverse ways. They shared their own experiences in China around the theme of “My Chinese Story” through speech. Two contestants from Jiangsu Normal University and China University of Mining and Technology won the first prize by their outstanding performance and were promoted to final contest.

This contest was an extraordinary opportunity for those international students to meet together and to communicated with each other. At the same time, it was also an ideal platform for them to know more about Jiangsu and Chinese language. Those international students noted that they loved China and Chinese culture, and were willing to be the bridges between China and their countries.
