JSNU (Jiangsu Normal University) is the first university that donated by Hong Kong Chi Wah Fundation in Jinagsu Province. On the morning of October 19th, the donation ceremony was successfully held. Lin Gaoyan, Chairman of Hong Kong Chi Wah Fundation Limited, delivered a speech at the ceremony. Hu Gang, Vice Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Wang Qiang, Chairman of the Xuzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Shu Gangbo, Deputy Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs of the Ministry of Education, Zhong Weihua, Vice Mayor of Xuzhou, and Li Jinghua, Vice Chairman of the Xuzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference attended the event. Chen Mufa, an academician of CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences), president of the Institute of Mathematics, Fang Zhong, Secretary of the CPC JSNU Committee, and President Zhou Ruguang, participated in the event. The ceremony was presided over by Shang Liang, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC JSNU Committee and Vice President.
On behalf of JSNU, Fang Zhong warmly welcomed all the guests attending the ceremony. He paid high tribute to Chi Wah Fundation and Mr. Lin Gaoyan for their virtuous deeds, and expressed sincere gratitude to all the leaders and friends from all walks of life who support the development of JSNU. Chi Wah Fundation donated to Mathematics Research Institute and the Library on Yunlong Campus. JSNU will take the opportunity to strengthen construction, continuously improve education environment, improve the quality of education, and focus on creating a research and talent highland that faces the international forefront and serves our nation’s major needs. It will contribute to the construction of a top performer in education, and the central city in Huaihai Economic Zone.

Zhong Weihua, on behalf of Xuzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC and Xuzhou Municipal People’s Government, expressed sincere gratitude to Mr. Lin Gaoyan and Hong Kong Chi Wah Fundation for supporting the development of education in Xuzhou. He said that in JSNU’s 70-year history, it has always focused on teacher education and adhered to the coordinated development of arts, science, and engineering, making important contributions to the development of Xuzhou's culture, education and the science and technology innovation industry. The donation is not only a blessing for JSNU, but also a happy event for the education industry in Xuzhou. In his speech, Lin Gaoyan expressed gratitude to the leaders and guests who participated in the donation ceremony. He expressed his pleasure in attending the ceremony for the upgrading and renovation project of the Mathematics Research Institute Building (Chi Wah Building) and Library on Yunlong Campus (Chi Wah Library) of Jiangsu Normal University. He added that since its establishment, Chi Wah Fundation has received supports from all parties and achieved a series of achievements. Lin hoped that the development of education could be promoted by common effort.

Subsequently, Lin Gaoyan officially donated 30 million yuan to JSNU on behalf of the Foundation, and President Zhou Ruguang accepted the donation as the representative of JSNU. At the ceremony, Zhou Ruguang presented a donation certificate to Hong Kong Chi Wah Fundation, a letter of appointment of an honorary professor at JSNU to Mr. Lin Gaoyan, and a letter of appointment of an honorary director of the JSNU Education Development Foundation to Mr. Pan Xubo, an advisor to Hong Kong Chi Wah Fundation.

He pointed out that China is currently accelerating the building of a strong country in education, and the high-quality development of education requires the joint support of all sectors. The Office would continue to support various donation projects carried out by Hong Kong Chi Wah Fundation.

After the donation ceremony, Lin Gaoyan and his delegation visited the construction site of Mathematics Research Institute Building (Chi Wah Building) and the Library on Yunlong Campus (Chi Wah Library) to inspect and learn the project overview, management standards, construction progress, etc.
It is reported that the Hong Kong Chi Wah Fundation is a non-profit charitable foundation company registered and established by Mr. Lin Gaoyan and his family in Hong Kong in 1992. Chi Wah carries the meaning of revitalizing China through wisdom. The Fundation has always adhered to Mr. Lin's values of firmly believing that education can cultivate morality and intelligence, boost economy, and create the future. Since its establishment, the Foundation has adhered to the principle of serving the country through science and education and giving back and has actively carried out funding and education assistance. It has made charitable donations to universities such as Peking University, Fudan University, Fujian Agricultural and Forestry University, Nanchang University, Jingdezhen Ceramic University, Guizhou University, Southwest Forestry University, etc. And has also donated and built 39 Chi Wah Middle Schools in Guizhou, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, etc.
