Biography

Zhai Yong was born in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province in April 1965. He graduated from the Art Department of Anhui Normal University in 1988 and taught there. In 1994, he graduated from the 7th Oil Painting Creation Seminar of Central Academy of Fine Arts. He once served as the Dean of the School of Arts at Anhui Normal University, Vice Chairman of the Anhui Oil Painting Society, and Vice Chairman of the Anhui Watercolor Art Committee.He is currently a member of the China Artists Association, a member of the National Art Postgraduate Teaching Guidance Committee, a member of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Art Education in Colleges and Universities under the Ministry of Education, a member of the Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation, a member of the Shanghai Discipline Evaluation Group, and a vice dean, professor, and doctoral supervisor of the School of Fine Arts at Shanghai Normal University. Over the years, his works have been exhibited at various national art exhibitions at various levels, and some works have been selected by the China Artists Association to participate in overseas exhibitions. The works have won the bronze medal award at the Seventh National Art Exhibition, were selected into the Complete Works of Chinese Modern Art, won the Excellent Work Award at the Third National Ethnic Minorities Art Exhibition, won the Excellent Work Award at the First National Watercolor Portrait Exhibition, and won first, second, and third prizes at provincial and municipal art exhibitions.Many of his works have been included in various hardcover art books and collected by many domestic and foreign collection institutions. Many papers have been published in national authoritative and core journals. He has presided over two national social science fund art projects and major provincial and municipal art planning projects.
