On August 25th, JSNU (Jiangsu Normal University) and Xuzhou Intermediate People’s Court jointly held the unveiling ceremony of Jiangsu Postgraduate Workstation and a forum on jointly training legal talents. Two leaders of both sides attended the event and jointly unveiled the board together.
In his speech, Fang Zhong, Secretary of the CPC JSNU Committee, began with history, scale and achievements of JSNU, focusing on the powerful measures and overall achievements of the Law School in the teaching staff construction and talents cultivation. JSNU and Xuzhou Intermediate People’s Court have established a long-term friendly and cooperative relationship. With the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Department of Science and Technology’s approval, Xuzhou Intermediate People’s Court set up Jiangsu Postgraduate Workstation, which deepens court-university cooperation, improves law research and major construction of Law School, and provides a new platform for serving the social needs. It is hoped that with the help of the platform, the two sides will continue to work together to cultivate more legal talents.
Secretary of Xuzhou Intermediate People’s Court, Liu Jiangong, expressed his thankfulness to JSNU for its support for the construction and development of the Court. He said that the Court should continuously optimize the arrangement of internship activities to promote the upgrading of the workstation, and promote the in-depth development of court-university cooperation. In addition, advisers should strengthen the training of legal thinking methods for trainees, guide them to set up problem consciousness to determine the topics of graduation thesis around the difficulties and hot spots in judicial practice. It is necessary to explore and establish a new mechanism for cultivating legal talents, promote the training of high-level talents and high-quality judicial achievements.
The relevant members of the Law School and Xuzhou Intermediate People’s Court attended the forum. The participants reviewed the judgment documents and experiences written by the Juris Masters of JSNU when they served as trainee judge assistants. After that they watched the videos of some trainee judge assistants at the trial. Lastly, some Juris Masters exchanged their internship experience as trainee judge assistants.
