Recently, a symposium on the construction of the Joint Training Demonstration Base for Education Master between Jiangsu Normal University (JSNU) and Xuzhou No.1 Middle School, as well as a teaching observation event of the “U-S Dual-Subject” Training Program, was held at Xuzhou No.1 Middle School. JSNU Vice President Cai Guochun and Principal Chen Qing of Xuzhou No.1 Middle School attended the event, along with persons in charge from the Graduate School and some supervising teachers.
Cai Guochun and the delegation visited the classrooms and observed the public classes of three postgraduate students majoring in education. Several experts and teachers provided feedback on the classes, pointing out the strengths and weaknesses in their teaching and offering guidance and suggestions.
Cai Guochun said that Xuzhou No.1 Middle School is the national demonstration base for the joint cultivation of postgraduate students in education and plays a leading role in the development and promotion of practical teaching for the students. He especially thanked the leaders and teachers of the school for their strong support in the reform of the training. He hoped that JSNU and Xuzhou No.1 Middle School can further strengthen cooperation in the “U-S Dual-Subject” training program. He hoped that the quality of student training can continuously be improved by formulating comprehensive training plans, arranging excellent teaching staff, providing high-quality teaching resources and optimizing the collaborative mechanisms for base construction.
The persons in charge from the Graduate School briefly reviewed the construction process of the national demonstration base at Xuzhou No.1 Middle School. They further clarified the goals and progress, proposed work approaches for innovative exploration based on the existing foundation and put forward relevant ideas for the specific work in the second half of the year.
Chen Qing said that practical teaching is the first step for interns to step onto the podium. She hoped that the students can enhance their teaching skills and also hoped to see more outstanding graduate students join Xuzhou No.1 Middle School. Chen Qing pointed out that the middle School has had long-term cooperation with Jiangsu Normal University. She hoped that the university and the school can deepen cooperation and achieve new results in the construction of the joint cultivation demonstration base.
