On the morning of September 14, Ceremony for Freshman of JSNU, 2017 was held at Yunlong Campus and Quanshan Campus. School leadership attended the ceremony, together with the leaders of administrative departments and each school. Liu Guangdeng, vice president of JSNU hosted the ceremony.

Zhou Ruguang, president of JSNU extended his warm welcome to 5787 undergraduate students and graduate students of 2017 on behalf of all teachers and students, introduced basic information about JSNU and proposed his expectations to freshmen. President Zhou pointed out that, once you entered JSNU, you were a JSNUer. Therefore, one should adhere to the motto all the time. “Upholding morality” meant that except good grades, one should also pay attention to emotion and morality. “Thoroughly learning” meant that only after knowing how to think and create, one could own creativity and embark on the journey of life with twists and turns. “Being ambitious” meant that one should have great expectations and an open heart. View study as a kind of responsibility and pursuit. “Acting positively” meant that one should positively take part in school activities and social practice. Cultivated one’s adaptive capacity, interpersonal skills and coordinate ability, and then, became a talent with high quality that this society really needed.

Teacher representative, Professor Long Yingqiang from LawSchool, student representative, Zhou Zhou from School of Foreign Studies made speeches respectively, extending their welcome to freshmen. Yan Ke, who was enrolled by JSNU with the highest grade, made a speech on behalf of all freshmen, expressing their hopes toward new campus life and future. Later, leaders from different schools conferred school flags on freshmen representatives. Wonderful performance by teachers and students from academy of music extended their welcome to freshmen and attracted everyone’s attention.
