On April 15th, JSNU held the 2023 Spring Overseas Education Consultation Meeting. The meeting was sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs and the International Office, and undertaken by JSNU Service Center for Studying Abroad. The event attracted nearly 60 units from world-famous universities such as Cambridge University, Johns Hopkins University, Manchester University, and Birmingham University, as well as professional service agencies for study abroad. They brought nearly 100 overseas education and international organization internship and exchange programs for students. Liu Guangdeng, Vice President of JSNU and Deputy Secretary of CPC JSNU Committee, persons in charge of relevant departments, and more than 1,000 teachers and students attended the event.

At the site, Liu Guangdeng extended greetings to the staff of relevant universities and service agencies, and asked about the basic situation of overseas education, entry requirements, and scholarships. Liu also communicated with the graduates and their parents, asking them about their intention of studying abroad and graduates personal development. After that he encouraged students to plan scientifically for further studies, rationally analyze development prospects based on their own circumstances, and choose suitable universities. Service agencies and universities answered questions raised by graduates and their parents patiently, introduced the language requirements, advantageous majors, and admissions data of different universities in detail. They also made preliminary application plans for students who intend to go abroad for further studies

The purpose of this consultation meeting is to promote high-quality employment for graduates, broaden the channels for studying abroad, and provide guidance and academic planning for the majority of graduates. After learning graduates intention and demand of studying abroad, schools of JSNU mobilized postgraduates, undergraduates and their parents in need to participate. They provided a good platform for them to know various scholarship programs, admission policies, and application procedures, which not only enhances graduates’ understanding of overseas education, but also improved their internationalization awareness, broadened their horizons, and laid a good ideological foundation for students who intend to study and work abroad.
