On February 4th, Jiangsu Normal University Wuxi Alumni Association 2023 Welcome Meeting was held in Wuxi. Secretary of CPC JSNU Committee, Fang Zhong, Secretary of CPC Wuxi City College of Vocational Technology Committee, Yu Baorong and the college leader, Wu Xuechun, attended the event. In addition, the heads of relevant departments and colleges of our university and teacher representatives, more than 200 alumni, students and parents who work or live in Wuxi also presented at the meeting.
Fang Zhong delivered a speech. On behalf of the university, he expressed his heartfelt thanks and sincere greetings to the alumni who have been concerning about and supporting the construction and development of JSNU. In his speech, Fang Zhong introduced the history of the JSNU, its red gene and the characteristics of normal education. He also informed the achievements of talent training, discipline construction, scientific research and innovation, social services, etc. in the past year. At the same time, he fully affirmed the great contributions of Wuxi Alumni Association in serving alumni, the society and JSNU. Fang Zhong pointed out that not only an emotion community, but also a development community, alumni represent the alma mater, and they provide powerful support for the development of the alma mater. He expressed his earnestly hope that the alumni will return to the campus frequently to establish close relationships with their alma mater. At last, Fang Zhong warmly invited college students’ parents to visit JSNU to help students grow healthily and successfully and cultivate more outstanding alumni together with the university.
At the meeting, Zheng Lei, the president of Wuxi Alumni Association, reviewed the work of 2022 and gave an outlook and arrangement for the work in 2023. In the award ceremony, Wuxi Alumni Association honored and awarded prize money to students with excellent academic performance. Simultaneously, excellent alumni, parents and students were awarded prizes. Wang Ziyou, an alumnus of the class of 1964 in Physical Chemistry Class, was awarded “Excellent Alumnus of the Year”. 6 parents, including Dong Xiaowen etc., won “Excellent Parents of the Year”, and 11 students, including Tao Lingyun etc., were awarded “Excellent Students of the Year”.
Colorful cultural programs provided a platform for teachers, students and alumni to gather together, recollect the past, deepen relationships. Finally, the event came to an end warmly and happily.
