On October 22nd, the 30th anniversary celebration of School of Fine Arts was successfully held. Fang Zhong, secretary of CPC JSNU Committee and Wang Xiaosan, the vice president of JSNU, attended the celebration. Leaders of related departments and partner universities, representatives of partner universities, business, alumni, and teachers and students from the school were also present.
In the afternoon, the celebration was held in Ma Ke Concert Hall. Firstly, all attendees enjoyed the lion dance and martial arts performed by Xuzhou University of Technology, Jiangsu Vocational Institute of Architectural Technology and School of Physical Education of JSNU. After that, the propaganda film Travel Together and the video which consists of blessings from more than 40 partner universities across the country were played on the large screen.
Fang Zhong was full of praise for the achievements of School of Fine Arts in the past three decades in his speech, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the friends and alumni who had been caring for and supporting the development of JSNU and School of Fine Arts. He hoped that all the teachers and students would shoulder the glorious mission against the backdrop of the new era. Accordingly, they should study intensively for more artistic achievements with strength of character, morals and warmth, they should adhere to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and carry forward the philosophy of “cultivating morality and skills, pursuing for perfection”. By studying diligently, thinking deeply, being brave and staying firm to aspirations, new and greater contributions would be made to promote the high-quality growth of our university and the development of aesthetic education in the new era.
Zhen Zaixin, former secretary of the Party Branch of the Art Department of Xuzhou Normal University, Cui Hao, the representative of partner universities and dean of the School of Art and Design of Xuzhou University of Technology, Li Ruiyun, the representative of entrepreneurs and principal of Chuyuntang Calligraphy Training School, and Zu Yanhui, the representative of alumni, who graduated in 1997 from art education, and Jiangsu special-grade teacher, delivered speeches. On behalf of JSNU and School of Fine Arts, the vice president Wang Xiaosan accepted the donations from the representatives of entrepreneurs and alumni and issued donation certificates. Teachers and students of School of Fine Arts, alumni and several teachers of Academy of Music gave colorful performance.
In the afternoon, Exhibition of Works from Teachers and Students for the 30th anniversary of School of Fine Arts was inaugurated at Xuzhou Art Museum before the celebration. School of Fine Arts collected more than 170 works from teachers and students into “30 Years’ Elegance and Talent” for exchange and study to celebrate the 70th anniversary of JSNU. It also organized a series of academic lectures on “Reform and Development of Aesthetic Education in Universities in the New Era”.
