On the morning of Oct. 29th, donation ceremony of Nanjing Alumni Association and Jiangsu Chunyu Education Group was held in Jiangsu Normal University (JSNU). Alumni including Lin Xiangguo, Zhang Yan, Xu Yiying, Zhou Qi, and Yan Jun, chairman of Jiangsu Chunyu Education Group Co.,Ltd, attended the ceremony. Fang Zhong, Secretary of CPC JSNU Committee, and chiefs of related departments participated in the event. Qian Jin, the vice president of JSNU, hosted the ceremony.
Fang Zhong addressed at the ceremony and expressed heartfelt thanks to the generous donation of Nanjing Alumni Association and Jiangsu Chunyu Education Group Co.,Ltd. He noted that it’s a significant task to build up a group of “masters” who foster virtue through education. Also, it displays the high-quality development of education. He said that the theme of the ceremony is being grateful to “masters”, being great “masters” and training more “masters”. The aim of the ceremony is to call on all the teachers and students to learn from sages and famous teachers, and carry forward the spirit of them. The donation fully reflected the sincere heart and responsibility of the association and the company. They devoted themselves to education, JSNU, students and the society. Over the past 70 years, JSNU has always stayed committed to the mission that teachers are the foundation of education, and endeavored to build a team of highly qualified “masters” who are lecturers of knowledge and paragons of virtues.
As the representative of alumni, Zhou Qi, an alumnus of the class of 1978 in Chinese Department, gave a speech. He looked back on his college life in JSNU and recalled the noble images of “masters” here. He pointed out that not only in the Department of Chinese, there were a wealth of “masters” in colleges and they served as the backbone and soul of our university. It is the words and deeds of these “masters” that have set the example for generations of students in JSNU. These masters have made our university famous for benefiting the Huaihai Region and having student all over the world, leaving the majority of alumni impressive when they look back on college life with warmth and fondness in their hearts. Zhou Qi indicated that Nanjing Alumni Association and Jiangsu Chunyu Education Group Co., Ltd would donate 1 million yuan for the theme educational activity of “In Honor of ‘Masters’” in order to express the concern and gratitude of Nanjing alumni. Education is the foundation of national development in the long run and teachers are the basis of education. As normal education is a unique advantage of JSNU, he hoped the theme education activity will spark a wave of feeling grateful to “masters”, being “masters” and cultivating “masters” on the campus. At the ceremony, Yan Jun, an alumnus of the class of 1980 in Chinese Department and the chairman of the Group, donated to our university and Fang Zhong accepted the donation on behalf of JSNU and issued a certificate.
