Recently, Jiangsu Education Department released the results of the third phase of the Priority Academic Program Development of Jiangsu Higher Education Institutions. The first-level discipline of JSNU, Chinese Language and Literature, was awarded “excellence”. It was the only excellent discipline among the 8 literature disciplines including Chinese Language and Literature, Foreign Language and Literature and Journalism and Communication etc. , which were selected for the program from various universities in Jiangsu province.
The Office of Jiangsu High-level University Construction Leading Group organized the third phase of the Priority Academic Program Development of Jiangsu Higher Education Institutions in August this year. After funds audit, self evaluation, preliminary review, experts’ examination and comprehensive recognition, 178 disciplines finally passed the acceptance check. Particularly, 70 disciplines achieved “excellence” and the others achieved “pass”.
Chinese Language and Literature Discipline of JSNU was directly recognized as excellent discipline with following landmark achievements: Linguistic Competence Collaborative Innovation Center Co-sponsored by Jiangsu Provincial Government and Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China was established in the School of Linguistic Science and Arts, Supply Side Reform and Practice of Liberal Arts Experimental Teaching Based on Innovation-driven won the Second Prize of National Teaching Achievement Award for Higher Education, and the research report on popularizing mandarin and poverty alleviation won the approval of national leaders.
