In order to further promote international cooperation and exchanges and internationalize school-running pattern, Professor Du Zengji, standing member of the school council and vice president of JSNU, led a delegation to visit the University of Edinburgh from December 11-15. JSNU delegation visited the Edinburgh Technology Transfer Center, Roslin Institute (the birthplace of the world’s first cloned sheep Dolly), School of Biological Sciences, Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, etc. A memorandum of understanding for further cooperation between the two universities was signed. They also visited the JSNU teachers and students studying at the University of Edinburgh and drew asuccessful conclusion to the visiting trip.
The delegation arrived in Edinburgh on the afternoon of December 11 and first paid a visit to the Edinburgh Technology Transfer Center on the morning of December 12.
After warmly welcoming the members of the delegation, Dr. Adam Irvine and Dr. Michael Murray gave a detailed introduction to the center as showing them around. Vice President of JSNU Du Zengji especially introduced the Key Laboratory of Biotechnology for Medical Plan of Jiangsu Province in JSNU. Professor Jiang Jihong, Director of the Key Laboratory and Professor Li Zongyun, Dean of JSNU School of Life Sciences also shared with Dr. Adam Irvine their desire to exchange teachers for further study and scientific research cooperation.
The delegation paid a visit to the School of Biological Sciences, Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and School of GeoSciences onthe morning of December 13. Relevant personnel of the three schools made a detailed introduction and led the members of the delegation around the specimen studio, the teaching anatomy room and the most famous Roslin Institute, which is known as the birthplace of the world's first cloned sheep Dolly.
Through this effective visit, JSNU has expand the cooperation with the University of Edinburgh and boost international development.
