The 5th Chinese Youth Volunteer Service Project Competition and 2019 Volunteer Service Exchange opened on December2-4 in Dongguan, southern China's Guangdong province. The event, jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and other seven authorities, focuses on promoting volunteer culture and the construction of voluntary service system, as well as showcasing outstanding volunteer service projects.
A total of 284 teams from across the country competed in the youth volunteer service entrepreneurship competition and 100 teams enter the finals to make presentation and road show. It’s the first time for JSNU to participatein the competition and the JSNU volunteer team guided by teacher Geng Yan was highly praised by the judges and the audience for its scientific organization and management, and favorable social effects. They finally won the silver prize of this competition, realizing the new breakthrough of our school in this event.
In addition, Huang Jiayi, the student delegate of JSNU youth volunteer service team was invited to participate in the civilization practice and exchange activities. During the meeting, the Chinese Youth Daily, the Chinese Youth Volunteers and other media interviewed the young volunteers of our school.
In recent years, JSNU has paid close attention to constructing the youth volunteer service system, and has made great efforts to promote the active role of the volunteer service in the civilization practice of the newera. The School Party Committee carried out concrete guidance and arrangement during the preparation and the competition period. Wei Chen and other award-winning teachers of the national competition also gave technical guidance to the projects. The prize presents the professional level of our voluntary service organizations and the high spirit of volunteers.
