JSNU performed well at 2019 “Challenge Cup” National Undergraduate Extracurricular Science and Technology Works Contest


The 16th “Challenge Cup” contestwas hosted by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China(CYLC), the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the Ministryof Education (MOE), the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), All-ChinaStudents Federation (ACSF) and the People's Government of Beijing Municipalityand organized by Beihang University. And the finals were held in BeihangUniversity during November 7 -12.

Nearly three million young studentsparticipated in the university round held among 1,573 universities. After theprovince round, 1,513 entries from the Chinese Mainland made their way to thenational round, in which 447 went to the final round after the preliminaryevaluation. JSNU boasts 6 entries in the national round and two of that in thefinal round.

Professor Liu Guangdeng, Deputy Secretary ofthe School’s Party Committee and Vice President of JSNU, led the school team toparticipate in the competition.

Prepared since 2018, these projects havereceived careful guidance from teachers and much attention from leaders of theuniversity and the schools. The instructors and students spared no efforts toexplore and experiment. After fierce competition, JSNU project teams were honorablyrecognized for their solid foundation of specialized knowledge and skills duringthe final, displaying the all-round development and the courage to blaze newtrails of JSNU students.

At the closing ceremony, the contestantsissued a proposal of “Realizing Our Dream Through Challenge and Serving OurCountry with Scientific and Technological Innovation” and called upon youngstudents to become people with ideals, goals, capabilities, backbone, goodqualities and self-cultivation, a sense of responsibility and achievements in anew era, and to contribute to the realization of Two Centenary Goals throughscientific and technological innovation.
