On the afternoon of September 29, the opening ceremony for 2025 international studentswas convened at Jingwen Auditorium. Du Zengji, the President of Jiangsu Normal University (JSNU), attended the event, alongside heads of relevant functional departments, all faculty members of the International College, and 371 international students from 53 countries—including Russia, Morocco, Vietnam, Bangladesh, etc.
In his address at the ceremony, President Du extended a warm welcome to all international freshmen on behalf of JSNU. He encouraged students to actively embody the motto — “Virtue, Knowledge, Ambition and Action”, adapting to campus life promptly and embarking on a new academic journey. Focusing on students’ growth and development, President Du put forward three expectations. First, broaden horizons and become globally-minded talents to lead in innovation. Second, foster connectivity and serve as envoys of civilization to convey friendship. Third, embrace inclusiveness and act as bridges for mutual learning among civilizations.
At the ceremony, Yuan Yuan (faculty representative), OUSSAID ILYAS (senior student representative), and KORENEVA ANASTASIIA (freshman representative) delivered speeches, expressing welcome and blessings to the new cohort. They inspired students to sail forward with resolve, march bravely, and compose a splendid chapter of life. Additionally, heads ofrelevant departments read out commendation documents for scholarship recipients, presented honorary certificates to representatives of Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) recipients, and presented JSNU badges to representatives of 2025 international students.
