The 4th Sino-US Research Conference on Quality, Analytics, and Innovations, organized by Jiangsu Normal University and School of Mathematics and Statistics, was held at Xuzhou during May 24 to 26.The conference attracted over 100 scholars and postgraduate students of famous higher-education and research institutes from China and the U.S. like Tsinghua University, Peking University, University of Science and Technology of China, Pennsylvania State University, Texas A&M University, Southern Methodist University, McMaster University, University of Alberta, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University,Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tianjin University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Institute of Technology, University ofElectronic and Technology of China, Xi’an Jiaotong University, NorthwesternPolytechnical University, etc. The conference was hosted by Professor Zhao Peng.
Professor Zhou Ruguang, President of JSNU, addressed a speech, expressing his welcome to the scholars and postgraduate students from these institutes, specifically introducing JSNU’s history and research, and wishing this conference a complete success.
The laureate of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Professor Jiang Wei from Shanghai Jiao Tong University expressed his gratitude to JSNU for our effort in improving quality and reliability and proposed his suggestions and expectation to young scholars’ research.
Fellow of American Statistical Association and Institute of Mathematics Statistics, Professor N. Balakrishnan, Chairman of China Branch of Institute of Mathematics Statistics, Vice Chairman of the International Biometric Society, Director of MOE Statistics Teaching Supervisory Committeeand Director of the Department of Probability and Statistics School of Mathematical Science, Peking University, Professor Fang Xiangzhong, Distinguished Professorof Chang Jiang Scholars Program, Professor Wang Hongwei from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Fellow of Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, Professor Shiyu Zhou of University of Wisconsin-Madison made keynote reports respectively. Then, attendants conducted further communicationon quality and reliability, creating a heated atmosphere.
