JSNU’s discipline of computer science was included in top 1% on Essential Science Indicators (ESI) list for the fist time according to the latest statistics from the Clarivate Analytics in March, 2025. Up to now, it is JSNU’s ninth discipline that has been included in top 1% on ESI list after Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, Mathematics, General Social Sciences, Computer Science, Animal and Plant Science and Agricultural Science.
The Essential Science Indicators (ESI) is a basic analytical tool launched by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) in 2001 to measure scientific research performance and track the trends of scientific development. It is a quantitative analysis database based on more than 10 million literature records from over 12,000 journals included in Web of Science (SCIE/SSCI) under Clarivate Analytics. Currently, it’s one of the important indicators commonly used to evaluate the international academic level and influence of universities, academic institutions, countries/regions.
