Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University’ s Delegation had a conference with leaders of JSNU on February, 27th. The meeting was held in Room 1306, Jingyuan Building. Mr. Dmitry Germanovich Arseniev (vice president of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University) and Mr. Xu Fangming (Secretary of JSNU Committee of CPC) attended the meeting to discuss how to co-operate and they decided to establish the Russian Center. Mr. Zhou Ruguang (Vice President of JSNU) hosted the conference.
Mr. Xu Fangming first expressed his warmly welcome to Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University’ s Delegation and briefed on the development of the International exchanges and co-operation work of JSNU. He pointed out that Jiangsu Tour of China-Russia Youth Year of Friendship Exchanges started officially yesterday and he was very glad that the friendly communication of two countries’ young fellows could be deepen by activities. During past three years, two universities had carried out lots of effective work on jointly setting up engineering collage and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University provided much support and help during the process. Mr. Xu Fangming said that the establishment of Russian Center would help JSNU’ s students to learn Russian better and help them to know more about Russia’ s history and culture.
Mr. Dmitry Germanovich Arseniev expressed his gratitude for JSNU’ s warm reception and thoughtful arrangement and spoke highly of JSNU’ s effort for Jiangsu Tour of China-Russia Youth Year of Friendship Exchanges. He said that Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University paid much attention to co-operation with Chinese universities and until now they had signed co-operation agreements with 37 Chinese universities which include well-known ones like Tsinghua University. Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University attached much importance to the co-operation with JSNU, especially to the up-coming co-operative engineering college, which is the first institute co-held by universities between China and Russia. He hoped that this institute could be approved by the government as soon as possible and started to construct and enroll. The establishment of Russian Center played an important role in deepening the co-operation between these two universities, he had the confidence that this center could solve language problems for students who wanted to study at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and help them to know more about Russia. Mr. Dmitry Germanovich Arseniev hoped that students from two universities could have more communication through this platform, at the same time, he hoped that professors from two universities could enhance co-operative scientific researches in order to boost the co-operation comprehensively.
Mr. Xu Fangming and Mr. Dmitry Germanovich Arseniev jointly inaugurated the Russian Center. Head of the Russian Language for International Students department I.I. Baranova and vice dean of Sino-Russian School Wang Li had speeches as the directors of Russian Center, then people who attended the meeting had a substantial and meaningful discuss on the establishment of engineering college. Director of Institute of International Educational Programsand director of Institute of Physics, Nanotechnology and Telecommunications of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University also came along with the delegation. Leaders of International Office, International Office, International College, School of Mechatronic Engineering and School of Physics and Electronic Engineering attended the conference.
