On the afternoon of October 19, theMoscow State Pedagogical University delegation led by President AlekseeLivovich Semyonov came to visit. JSNU President Hua Guihong and Vice PresidentZhou Ruguang met with the guests. The two sides signed the CooperationAgreement between Jiangsu Normal University and Moscow State PedagogicalUniversity.
In his speech, VP Zhou welcomed thearrival of the Russian representatives and briefly reviewed the cooperationhistory between JSNU and MSPU. He expressed his gratification with theachievements of the cooperation made in the recent decade.
President Hua briefed on theacademic disciplines and related advantages JSNU has, the development ofHuaihai economic zone and the important role JSNU plays in the zone. PresidentHua said it is the common goal and task to promote international cooperationand teaching development for the two universities, the two universities have alot in common in scientific research, and there is a great potential forcooperation. He hoped that cooperation would be expanded in more disciplines, suchas establishing joint labs and transnational institute for special researchprojects to make greater contributions to the science and technology exchangebetween China and Russia.
Aleksee Livovich Semyonov,president of MSPU and academician of Russian Academy of Sciences and RussianAcademy of Education, thanked for the warm reception and briefly introduced dominantdisciplines in MSPU. He said MSPU has prominent advantage in physics, math, educationand other areas, and there are more and more teachers and students studyingChinese in MSPU with the development of exchange between Russia and China; soit becomes more and more important to communicate with China. He hoped thatJSNU could accept teachers and students from MSPU to learn Chinese and sendexcellent teachers to MSPU to teach and exchange experience. According to PresidentSemyonov, there is a long history of cooperation between JSNU and MSPU. Hehoped substantial progress would be gained in cooperative education, staffexchange and scientific research cooperation using intercollegiate, regionaland national platforms.
President Hua Guihong and PresidentSemyonov signed the cooperation agreement and exchanged gifts.
The delegation included professor ConstantKim Petrovic Daqinke, vice president, Professor Yielena Ikalevna Buling, deanof Kids College, and other delegates. Deans or directors from InternationalCollege and Sino-Russian Institute of JSNU attended the meeting.
