In 2011, School of Continuing Education was established toundertake all kinds of adult higher education and teachers ' training.In Xuzhou, LianYungang, Suqian, Zhenjiang, Wuxi, Suzhou, Nanjing and other cities, distant education teaching sites have been set up. At present, more than 11,000 students are studying in the school for adult higher education certificate. In the past 60 years, the school has offeredcertificate programs for 30,000 students, and none-certificate programs for over 20,000 people, making great contributions to development ofeducation andeconomy in Jiangsu.
For a long time, the school has adhered to the guiding philosophy of highlighting the characteristics of teaching training, satisfying the community needs, setting feet in Northern Jiangsu and aiming at the whole nation. At present, the school offers 47 adult higher educationprograms including 23 reformed programs and 33 self-enrollment programs.
In the past years, the school has made certain achievements in satisfying the needs of social and economical development with a good balance between theory and practice.It has gained a good reputation in Northern Jiangsu, and praised by the higher authorities for many times.In 1996, the school was awarded the title of Excellent School of Adult higher Education by Jiangsu Education Commission. In 1997 and 2005, the school was awarded Advanced Collective ofAdult Higher Education Enrollmentby the provincial recruitment committee and provincial education commission. The number of adult higher education students in the school ranks the forefront in Jiangsu province for eight consecutive years. In 2006, the school was award the title of “National Advanced Collective of Adult Higher Education Enrollment”by Department of students, Ministry of Education.
