On the afternoon of October 19, JSNU 2017 International Students School Opening Ceremony was held at CW CHU Lecture Hall. Zhou Ruguang, president of JSNU, Cen Hong, deputy secretary of CPC JSNU Committee, Xu Hongwei, Captain of Exit and Entry Administration Detachment of Xuzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau and leaders of related departments attended the ceremony. Those who that also at present were 351 freshmen from 41 countries, including the U.S.A, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kingdom of Thailand and Republic of Korea.
President Zhou addressed his speech at the ceremony. He expressed his welcome to the international students from all over the world and introduced the general information and the achievements that JSNU had achieved in terms of international exchange and cooperation. He encouraged international students to be ambitious and try their best to develop in all-around way. He also indicated his wishes that international students could overcome cultural gaps and share Chinese culture to others. Yu Tao, deputy dean of School of Foreign Studies, Wang Shijin, teacher representative gave their speeches, sharing their secrets of realizing dreams and extending their best wishes to the international students.
At the ceremony, deputy secretary Cen declared the commendation of Chinese Government Scholarships, Jasmine Jiangsu Government Scholarship and Jiangsu Normal University Scholarship for International Students. President Zhou and deputy secretary Cen granted the certificates to the honorees.
