ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2020 was released on June 29, four JSNU subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry, Power Electronics Engineering, and Materials Science & Engineering entered global top 500 (Mathematics No.301-400, Chemistry, Power Electronics Engineering, and Materials Science & Engineering No.401-500).
ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2020 uses a series of objective indicators to rank world universities’ subjects, including the number of alumni and staff winning international authoritative medals, top research achievements, research qualityand international cooperation, covering 54 subjects and 5 fields of Science, Engineering, Life Science, Medical Science and Social Science.
More than 4,000 universities have been actually ranked and over 1,800 institutes from 90 countries and districts were finally published.
Altogether, 253 universities from Chinese mainland entered the ranking. In terms of subject numbers, Jiangsu Normal University ranks No. 134 nationwide, No. 18 among provincial universities and share the position of No. 13 among provincial normal universities.
