On April 20, 2022, Dr. Wu Jiong,distinguished professor of School of Life Sciences, JSNU,was officially granted the honor of becomingForeign Academician of theRussian Academy of Engineering (RAE) in recognition of his outstanding achievementsin immunotherapy programs of tumor cells. It’s through recommendations and atrain of assessments that Prof. Wu Jiong was voted a Foreign Full Member in theRAE Assembly. On the next day, RAE president B.V.Gusev sent a congratulatorymessage on his election as a RAE Foreign Academician, wishing him “creativesuccess and fruitful scientific and technical collaboration aimed at thesustainable development in Russia and China”.
Prof. Wu Jiong, a core scientistof the key biotechnology lab on medicinal and edible plants in JSNU Schoolof Life Sciences, has committed himself to the study of basic theory andclinical treatment of tumor immunology as well as the R&D of relatedproducts for a long time. He has won many prizes including Ferid Murad Prizefrom ISICR.
As legal successor of theEngineering Academy of USSR, Russian Academy of Engineering or RAE was foundedby 20 ministries and departments of USSR and RSFSR in 1990. At the presenttime, it includes over 100 foreign members among more than 1500 academicians.
