On October 29th, a series of salon meeting of Jiangsu Youth Think Tank Scholars was held in JSNU. The conference was jointly organized by Jiangsu Federation of Social Sciences, Jiangsu Normal University, and the Belt and Road Research Institute of JSNU. More than ten experts and scholars from the field of open economy research in and outside the province conducted in-depth discussions.
Professor Hua Guihong, Party Secretary of CPC JSNU Committee and Dean of the Belt and Road Research Institute, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. He pointed out that “building a two-way open hub with global cohesion” is an important goal of Jiangsu’s national economic and social development during the 14th Five-year Plan period, and an active choice to adapt to the new development stage and pattern.
Shang Qingfei, Vice Chairman and Member of Jiangsu Federation of Social Sciences, believed that “building a two-way open hub with global cohesion” is based on the basic advantages of the “Belt and Road” intersection, state-level development zone, free trade pilot zone and other major open platforms, highlighting high-level opening-up initiative of Jiangsu province.
Li Yan, Vice Mayor of Xuzhou, introduced the constructive achievements of Xuzhou’s industrial, urban and ecological transformation and development in recent years, as well as the requirements of “opening up in a larger pattern” put forward by the 13th Party Congress of Xuzhou. Experts in Think Tanks need to provide scientific ideas and feasible strategies for the high-level development of Xuzhou city.
During the session, many experts and scholars delivered keynote speeches respectively. Liu Xizhong, Director of the Research office of Jiangsu Federation of Social Sciences, said that based on different perspectives, experts put forward a lot of targeted and constructive views and suggestions for the construction of high-quality “Belt and Road” intersection in Jiangsu province.
