On August 25th-26th, sponsored by the Education Department of Jiangsu Province and undertaken by the Research Center of Mental Health Education for College Students in Northern Jiangsu Province, 2021 Training of Mental Health Education for New Counselors among Northern Jiangsu Universities was held in JSNU. The purpose of the training is to improve the effectiveness of students’ mental health education, to strengthen professional support and scientific management and to enhance mental health work ability for counselors.
Professor Liu Guangdeng, Director of Northern Jiangsu Research Center for College Students Mental Health Education, Vice Party Secretary of CPC JSNU Committee and Vice President of JSNU, attended and addressed the launching ceremony. Extending warm welcome to counselors in the training program with a briefing on the preparation and curriculum of the program, Professor Liu indicated a new opportunity for mental health education on college students against the backdrop of development of new prominent talents in the new era. Counselors play an indispensable part in promoting mental health of students on campus and securing campus harmony and stability. With a full grip on fundamentals of mental health education and better expertise of crisis intervention and so on in heart-to-heart talks, counselors can effectively contribute to implementation of mental health education on campus.
